Blue, white and tan – The ultimate summer outfit combination

There is nothing more certain in life than death and taxes… and the fact that you can never go wrong with a summer outfit composed of baby blue, white and tan.  These colour embody the essence of summer – days by the beach, glowing tans, nautical notions and Hampton-style getaways.  I’ve created this combination with a new shirred strapless top which I’ve teamed with white jeans and minimalist slides.  The overall look exudes a relaxed serenity.

I’ve talked about the Bardot sale multiple times on my Instagram Stories in recent weeks but that is because it was a GOOD ONE, they have up to 70% off a great range of summer tops including this cute little number.  I’ve been obsessed with shirring of late, especially when it is combined with free flowing elements as it’s flattering where it needs to be while hiding other, this style can be suitable for all body types.

My white jeans are actually drop-crotch boyfriend jeans (worn here) however I’m wearing them high on my waist with a belt to achieve a sleeker look as my goal was for a clean, minimal silhouette to balance the free-flowing fabric around my torso.  The slides are a new purchase too and I am in love!  They feel like a slipper and while not the most flattering or feminine of shoe choices, they suit me and my lifestyle perfectly and are simply a must-have this summer.

Lastly, so happy to shooting with old friend Cat Leedon again!  Since our last shoot we’ve had a baby EACH so it’s certainly been a long time between drinks but that’s given us both some time to take a step back and re-energise and re-motivate ourselves.  Cat is looking at launching her family portrait photography business very soon, watch this space!
