How to wear cropped flared jeans

After quite the extended break from fashion blogging I’M BACK!!  Baby #2 is a sweet and happy little thing that is yet to discover the importance of day naps, only sleeping in 30min block thus leaving me with only enough time to do the things necessary for survival;  you know – getting dressed, eating, using the bathroom…  It’s only been in the last week or so that her sleeps have gotten slightly longer leaving me just enough time to take a few photos on my front door step before I have to rush back in and back on duty.  Assuming this continues I’m going to commit to at least one post per fortnight… fingers crossed!  For those that are interested I’m working on a post on my birth story which will hopefully be ready in the next week.

Today I’m wearing an outfit purchased mostly from H&M while I was pregnant and I have been dying to wear these cropped flared jeans ever since.  I’m in love with the raw unfinished hem and the cropped style allows shoe lovers to show of their kicks.  The mid rise cut is also an added bonus for sucking in that mummy tummy.

Some tips for wearing this style:

  1. The length should be just above the ankle.
  2. If opting for a raw hem, ensure there is no other distressing on the jeans to keep the look clean and streamlined
  3. Pick a style with a mid to high waist.  This keeps things slightly retro and also very flattering to the figure and works well with tucking in your top.
  4. If wearing with ankle boots ensure that the length sits just at or below the top of the boot… You don’t want to show any big gaps of skin.
