A 90’s kid at heart I love any throw back to my favourite era. Spaghetti strap camisole tops were all the rage for the school socials while singing your heart out to Ace of Base and I love that they are back. To combine todays minimalist, laid back vibe with that glam-grunge wannabe look of the 90s I love the emergence of the marriage of the two with silky cami’s and slinky nighties being nonchalantly layered over basic tees, oversized shirts and roll neck knits. It’s a combination of Brenda from Beverly Hills 90210 and Bambi “model off-duty”, the best of both worlds.
This look is easy to wear and easy to style, with many people already owning the right pieces in their wardrobe already or also being easily accessible via your local thrift store. You can opt to combine cami top + tee + jeans + Chuck Taylors for a casual weekend look or embrace slight further for a glammed up version of camisole dress over tee and simple sandal heels.
My recommendations are to keep your colour palette neutral with blacks, whites, greys or navy to keep yourself from going full 90s and looking dated.
