The beige linen jumpsuit

The Haley Diaries texted me a picture of this linen jumpsuit and I loved it so much that she went and purchased it in Melbourne for me, flew to Canberra and dropped it on my doorstep all within 3 days!  Now that’s a definition of a true friend that shares a passion for fashion.

While linen is just perfect for summer, the drop in temperature means that to wear it comfortably it now needs to be paired with a few more layers.  I also find that jumpsuits tend to shorten my body and make me look a little shapeless.  Two birds one stone, I styled the jumpsuit with a long line vest which helps to elongate the body while also camouflaging curves (or lack there of) for a softened look.  You could also do the same with a long line cardigan or trench.

I also love wearing outfits of all the one colour.  To do this successfully  and avoid looking like a wooden Jenga block, add a mix of textures.  While my vest and jumpsuit are practically the same colour the textural differences offer contrast and points of interest.  This rule applies regardless of what colour you are wearing – All black everything, all while everything… just make sure you mix up your textures (leathers, knits, suede, denim) and you can’t go wrong.
