Happy Tight Ass Tuesday folks, or “Cheap Tuesday” on Facebook as I get banned for profanities! Really, with all the borderline porn on Facebook and I get in trouble for the word A.S.S!!
Anyway, back on topic… Winter is approaching rapidly and with it we see the return of trousers, hallelujah! I live for summer but winter fashion is just so much more dynamic and a chance to show off well-made clothing. The reason I’m so excited for trousers is that I haven’t worn them in two years! Last year I was on maternity leave for most of winter so only wore trackpants or when I was feeling fancy, gym tights! The Winter before I was pregnant so pants in general were more or less abandoned.
This winter I was momentarily disappointed to find that most of my pre-pregnancy trousers no longer fit but was instantly buoyed at the prospect of buying new ones. This wonderful pair I picked up at a recent Zara sale for a steal. The tailoring just fits so perfectly and the high waist helps shape my mummy tummy and waistline. The flared fit (worn with my highest heels) does some serious work elongating my legs and the fabric is a woven wool blend which provides a lot of warmth and some structure.
I’ve kept the 70s vibe flowing from the flares to into the lacing tie detail of the blouse however minimalist nature of the overall outfit is much more paired back and restrained than going “full hippie” which makes it still very work appropriate while still referencing current trends.
I swear the length of these pants are made for an Amazon! I’m taller than average (170cm), add on my 6inch heels and these pants are still way too long for me. That being said I love the look of having them puddling on the floor and while not practical I left the hemming till after this photoshoot.
