This dress reminds me of visits to Japan, of wandering guest houses with paper screen walls and woven tatami mat floors and draped in a yukata (Japanese dressing gown)…
Obi (帯, おび , literally “sash”) is a sash for traditional Japanese dress and part of kimono outfits and is where this dress “Obi Wrap” dress by Asos draws it’s inspiration from. I love the semi-structured constructions, the ease of wear and the minimal design, now lets hope it ignites the sense of zen that Japanese culture inspires.
While I usually steer away from leopard print I thought I’d pair the dress with these $28 heels I snapped up on a recent Asos sale. With such a minimal style dress I think you can afford to be a little ostentatious with your accessories and these certainly are not subtle.
