One of the big trends for this Autumn/Winter is the duster coat – Super long line, light weight and free flowing. I’m wearing a sleeveless, cardigan version and it’s so easy and fun to wear, I had heaps of fun photographing it on this breezy day. At times it can look a tad frumpy (if there is no “catwalk breeze”) so some ideas for styling would be to keep the rest of your outfit fitted and you may also choose to cinch the waist in with a belt as I have done in the first image. To be honest though I love the way this style flaps around in the wind and prefer it free and open! Did you know that duster coats get their name as they were worn by horsemen to protect their clothes from trail dust kicked up by their horses? I do get a sense of “The Man from Snowy River” in this outfit but I’m sure he did not wear heels!
