The Star Ball is one of the biggest black tie events on the Canberra social calendar and all for a good cause too with funds raised going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Starlight Wishgranting and Captain Starlight program at the Canberra Hospital and in the Australian Capital Territory. I’m pleased to announced that over $2 million was raised this year!!
I’m generally an extremely organised person but with my personal and work life going through some tumultuous times I somehow forgot I was attending this event until the week of the ball!! With only two days to go before the big event I desperately turned to my knight in shining armour, Enchante Bridal and Formal wear. Since my last experience with them was so flawless I knew that they had a dress that could help me out of my bind. This time Julia went out the back and specially dug out a freshly delivered Enchante gown. With a fitted lace applique bodice, chiffon flared skirt and subtle beading this dress already had me at hello but when I saw the maroon version I knew I had found “the one”.
I kept my accessories modest with a silver clutch and heels and diamante bracelet and earrings to match the beading on my bodice. I did my own hair and makeup opting for a messy updo and a bold vampy lip and nails to amp up my dress.
